Basics

Barrows is a small mini-game in which you kill the six barrows brothers, and search a chest for a prize. The six brothers are Dharok, Verac, Ahrim, Guthan, Karil, and Torag.

Dharok the Wretched is the second oldest of the six Barrows brothers. Dharok's crypt is located in the north-east of the Barrows area. He attacks with melee using his greataxe. Dharok attacks at a slower speed than his brothers, but when he is at low health he can hit over 60 and thus he is considered by most players to be the most dangerous of the Barrows brothers. It is strongly recommended that you watch your prayer extremely closely while fighting Dharok. He is combat level 115, and is very dangerous.

Verac the Defiled is the youngest of the six Barrows brothers. Verac's crypt is located to the north-west of the Barrows area. Verac's set effect: Verac's Defilement, allows Verac's hits to have a chance to hit through protection prayer, also ignoring defense. Protect from Melee is still advised when attacking Verac to lower the amount of times he will hit. This set effect makes Verac very dangerous and food is likely needed to kill him. He is combat level 115, and Verac is arguably the toughest brother, although his max hit is significantly lower than that of Dharok's, he is the only brother who can not be dealt with by just praying.

Ahrim the Blighted is the oldest of the Barrows brothers using the Magic corner of the combat triangle. He wears robes, which make him vulnerable to ranged as well as melee attacks. Despite his defensive weaknesses, Ahrim can easily damage the player with his magic attacks, hitting up to 25 damage. Aside from this, Ahrim can also curse the player, lowering their melee stats substantially. It is recommended the player uses Protect from Magic when fighting him, though note that it will not protect against his curses.

Guthan the Infested is the third oldest of the six Barrows brothers. Guthan's crypt is located at the south-east of the Barrows area. He attacks with melee using his Guthan's warspear. He attacks at a fairly average/slow speed, but despite this, he can still deal around 20 damage per hit and should not be taken lightly, despite being regarded as one of the weaker Barrows brothers. Guthan's set effect: Infestation, allows him to heal himself at a 1:1 ratio, so if he deals 20 hitpoints of damage and the effect occurs, he would recover 20 hitpoints. His effect is accompanied by an animation when activated; three ghostly entities surround Guthan's opponents then circle around them in an upwards motion. Guthan's weakness is Magic, it is therefore recommended to use cost-effective spells.

Karil the Tainted is the fourth oldest of the Barrows brothers. Karil uses the Ranged corner of the combat triangle. Despite being seen as one of the weaker brothers Karil is certainly not to be underestimated as he hits rapidly and is extremely accurate, leaving even high leveled players with few hitpoints.

Torag the Corrupted is the second youngest Barrows brother using the Melee corner of the combat triangle. Torag's hammers hit as hard as an abyssal whip, but has a speed of only 5. The sets special effect adds a chance of decreasing the opponents run at each successful hit. Like the other melee brothers, Torag is weak to Magic. Despite being considered one of the easier brothers Torag still should not be underestimated by lower levels, especially without prayer.

Food and potions

The easiest way to get food and potions is to just buy them from players, or the basic food and potions from the shopkeeper at ::shops.

The second way to get food and potions is to get them yourself.

Food

This requires a decently high fishing level of 85+. 99 Recommended.

Teleport to ::fish

Buy a small fishing net from the fisherman.

Walk to this spot on the minimap:

Click on this fishing spot:

You will be presented with two options:

The Net option will allow you to fish manta rays, which I recommend for barrows.

The Bait option will allow you to fish sea turtles, which heal 1 less than a manta ray, but are still good for barrows.

Potions

If you are not a donator, you will have to obtain the herbs for making potions yourself.

So you will have to farm the potions. To see a complete farming guide, click here: http://allstarlegends.eu/forum/index.php/topic,2164.0.html

Once you have your herb(s), it's time to make some potions. I recommend making A few super sets (Attack, strength, and defense) as well as some super restores. To see a complete herblore guide, click here: http://allstarlegends.eu/forum/index.php/topic,4558.0.html

Once you have all of this, you're ready to go! Go do some barrows!
